The late Steve Jobs was known for his successes in life: being the CEO and Cofounder of Apple, which currently is the most valuable company in the world, and Pixar Animation Studios, which also is has been extremely successful. In this 2005 commencement address at Stanford, Jobs explores the topic of death and how we should view it in a different light. This speech was truly beautiful. No unnecessarily big words, full of countless quotes anyone could use. Some of the quotes that capture the essence of Jobs' speech were "You are already naked, there is no reason not to follow your heart", "Stay hungry. Stay foolish", and "If you live each day as if it were your last, someday you'll most certainly be right." These advices are perfect for dreamers from all backgrounds. It is almost scary to think of how at this moment, Jobs had no idea he would be dead in five short years. Come to think about it, no one knows for sure when they will die. A normal day, exactly like the rest of the Saturdays in your recent history, could very easily be your last. There is no reason to suspect your fate to come so soon, but fate does not always knock before entering your life. As Steve Jobs explained, death is promised and could come at any moment. An example of this is the Clutter family murders. Children, parents, everyone in the house, slaughtered by two who had very little connection to the Clutter family. Kenyon and Nancy, the two children in the house on the night of that tragic event, had so much to live for, just like every other young person who passes away. Were they satisfied with the life they had lived up to that point? Only they will know. Out of In Cold Blood, and this speech by Steve Jobs, there is an important lesson to be learned. Don't be afraid of death, there's no escaping it. Since death can come at any moment, be sure to constantly live a life worth living. Stay Hungry. Stay foolish.
